How Restart handles your application

This notice covers Restart careers: applying for a role at Restart and following your application.

What is collected

What you enter in the application form (your name, contact details, links and your Why you? answer), the resume you attach, and the email address of your Restart account.

Who reads it

Restart's hiring team, for the role you applied to. The team cannot see a draft before you send it. Their review notes are internal and are not shown to you; what you see on your applications page is the status of your application and the updates the team publishes to you.

Voluntary self-identification

The application form carries an optional U.S. equal employment opportunity and veteran status self-identification section. Every question there is voluntary; leaving it blank or choosing to decline has no effect on your application.

Those answers are stored in their own record, apart from your application and from the hiring team's review records. The hiring team's pages and tools never read that record, and the answers are not used to rank, filter or select applicants. You can see and change your own answers while your application is a draft, and see them after it is sent.

The record is deleted together with the application it belongs to: when you delete a draft, when you delete your careers data, and when a retention period removes the application.

Drafts

A draft is saved to your account as you write it, so you can come back to it later. You can delete a draft at any time.

How long it is kept

Applications are kept while the hiring process is open. After an application ends (withdrawn, hired, or not selected) and for drafts that are never sent, a retention period may apply, after which the records are deleted.

Deleting your data

From your applications you can delete your careers data: your applications, drafts, resumes, the updates you received and the team's internal review of them. The deletion runs shortly after you confirm it, and the page shows when it is complete. Your Restart login is not deleted, because the same account can be used elsewhere on Restart, and a minimal record that the deletion happened is kept.
